European Congress of Veterinary Nephrology
The Romanian Society of Veterinary Nephrology HEMODIALIVET was born as a generous idea to share with veterinarian colleagues the knowledge gained from well-known lecturers, making it thus possible for colleagues to approach this new and tempting field.
The event hosted 604 veterinarians from 14 countries (Romania, Austria, France, Republic of Moldavia, Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, UK, Croatia, USA and Russia), both owners of veterinary clinics and veterinarian employees.
The event benefited from the support of 50 sponsors, the leading companies on the Romanian market, Altius, BBraun, Hills, Maravet, Matopat, Royal Canin, Purina, City Vet, MSD, Vet Diagnostic, BioMed, Synevo Vet, Diamedix, Neologis, Tehnoplus medical, Liamed, MEDVET, Vetro Design, Pakrom, Samsung, MicoVet, DTL, Christian Veterinary Mission, VetReport, Callisto, Prisum, Tuvet, Digitail, Histovet and also from the presence of most of the representatives of the largest Veterinary Medical Associations in Romania and Eastern Europe: AMVAC, ROVECCS, Speed Vet, Hemopet, the Laboratory and MRI within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Bucharest, Pet Stuff, SRDV, SRVO, The Romanian Association for Veterinary Ophthalmology, VetCo, VVC, TUVECCA, TSAVA, IVSA.
One of the main attractions was the Luxury Area which hosted Vincon Vrancea, Unika, Sprezza by Dragoș Săndulache, Auto Italia, CVU Intelligence, Dolce Gusto, JOE, After Eight, KitKat, Exotique, Nespresso, Real Turism and Siguro Invest.
The third edition of the Congress of Veterinary Nephrology brought together internationally recognized lecturers and veterinarians in the field of small animal pathology, with special concerns in the area of veterinary nephrology, cardiology, pathology, parasitology and internal medicine.
The European Congress of Veterinary Nephrology enjoyed the contribution of Dennis DeNicola, Susan Randell, Luigi Venco and Antoine Bernardé.
Dennis B. DeNicola, DVM, PhD, DACVP (Pathology) has been an invited speaker at over 200 international education symposia and has authored or co-authored over 150 refereed manuscripts, textbook chapters, monographs and textbooks. He joined IDEXX in 2002 as the Chief Veterinary Educator. In his time at Purdue, Dennis received numerous well-deserved accolades, including 3 major teaching awards and 4 distinguished service awards, as well as the Purdue Distinguished Alumnus Awards. In his position as Chief Veterinary Educator and now Medical Affairs Fellow at IDEXX, Dennis has been instrumental in the development of many innovative instruments including the IDEXX ProCyte hematology analyzer, IDEXX Catalyst One chemistry analyzer, and IDEXX SediVue urine sediment analyzer, among others.
Susan Randell BVSc, DACVIM (SAIM), MRCVS, (Nephrology) qualified as a vet at the University of Pretoria (Onderstepoort). Susan was in academic and private referral practices in Florida for 12 years before moving to the UK to join the IDEXX team as an internal medicine consultant in Wetherby in 2012. She has been the Head of Internal Medicine since 2014.
Luigi Venco - European Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology, Member of European Veterinary Parasitology College - graduated in Veterinary Medicine in 1987 from the University of Milan, after that obtained the Italian Specialization in Small Animal Practice. He stayed for study, research and teaching, for several months, at University Veterinary Schools in U.S.A (Athens GA, Davis, CA, Philadelphia, PA, Ft Collins CO) and in Japan (Gifu) and he was invited speaker in over 100 courses and conferences in Italy, USA, U.K., Japan, Cuba, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Spain, Poland, Romania, Czech republic and Hungary. Luigi is author and co-author of 51 publications in “peer-reviewed international journals“ (72.25 Impact point), 2 books on Heartworm disease 3 on CVBD on one about Veterinary Cardiology.He is member of the American Heartworm Society, SOIPA, ESSCAP and WAAP, and is President of the European Dirofilariosis and Angiostrongylosis Society. He deals mainly with Clinical Parasitology of dogs and cats.
Antoine Bernardé, DVM, MS, Dipl ECVS was Assistant Professor in the Surgical department ENVA. After this, Antoine became Lecturer for Veterinarius (www.veterinarius.fr). He has done surgical workshops for veterinarians: Urinary tract surgeries, Perineal hernia, Brachycephalic syndrome, Laryngeal paralysis, Sialoceles, Ear surgeries, Pelvic fractures repairs, Pelvic osteotomies and Juvenile pubic symphysiodesis. Antoine has been Lecturer for Improve International (www.improve.com) Course for veterinarians/ GP Certificate: biology of fracture repair, techniques, implants, complications, augmentation techniques, grafts and osteo-conductive/inductive materials. Starting 2006 he is ECVS Residency Programme supervisor.
The covered topics consisted of the most interesting and up-to-date information in the lecturers' areas of expertise. The elegant setting and modern organization of the conference fully contributed to its success.
The party was hosted by MC Wilmark and we all enjoyed a great live performance offered by Emilia Mușală and The Gentlemen Band. Our Guest Star was IRIS, one of the greatest Rock bands Romania. We had two surprise guests: Alexandru Constantin and Jonny Săndulescu. Our partner, Vincon Vrancea offered more than 750 bottles of some of the greatest Romanian wines and their famous distillates: Miorița and Jad.
The tombola offered 35 prizes with a total price of 22.000 euro.
For the first time in Romania, we have launched an Application dedicated to the Congress in collaboration with our partners CVU Intelligence.
